Hi Al, that song is based on "To my immortal beloved" (the letters that Beethoven wrote to his true love) and even the film about his life is called that way... check: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110116/ It's an awesome love story (besides his biography as a musician)

Can anyone tell me why the song "My immortal" by Evanescenes is so powerful and moving to me? I barely get through it without shedding tears.
The song walks through my Soul with such dominance.
Its a beautiful and haunting piece, yet so hard to listen to.......

I'm on a journey to try and "re-discover" who I am, or was. I'm at the end of an 18 year marriage to a person who may have been a controller and manipulator, I'm trying to figure that out. I know I have been emotionally emptied out because of "our" behaviors. Now its time for me to grow up and out. I'm glad I found this site. Thank you all for the kind words.
